Entry 7: FOR THE GIRLS: FOOD! FOOD! FOOD!
After watching Fresh, it honestly made me stop and think about the food I eat every day. Like, I’ve never really questioned where it comes from, but now it’s kind of hard not to. The film’s purpose feels like it’s trying to open our eyes to how food is produced, especially the difference between big industrial farms and smaller, more natural ones. The tone is a little unsettling, but in a way that really sticks with you.
The parts that stood out most were how animals are treated and how processed everything has become. It was honestly a little upsetting, especially seeing how different it is from the healthier, more sustainable farms. As a mom with a toddler, it hits even harder because it makes me think about what I’m feeding my child every single day.
I think this film really does matter because it makes you more aware. It might be easier not to think about these things, but we probably should care—at least enough to start making better choices.
