Entry 6: FOR THE GIRLS: ITS WESLEY'S WORLD

  One thing about toddlers is that they can turn the most normal, everyday moments into something exciting. Lately, watching my son Wesley has reminded me how important it is for kids to just be outside and experience the world around them. In a time where screens and technology are everywhere, sometimes the best thing for kids is simply fresh air, a little freedom, and space to explore. Right now, Wesley is completely obsessed with TWO  things: airplanes and his toddler bike. Anytime we go outside, the first thing he does is listen for planes. The second he hears one, everything else stops. He tilts his head up toward the sky , points as fast as he can, and yells “Plane!” like it is the most exciting thing he has ever seen. Sometimes the plane is so far away it’s barely visible, but that doesn’t matter to him at all. To Wesley, it’s still amazing. And honestly, it makes me stop and notice it too. ENTRY 2: FOR THE GIRLS: THE SPIN OFFS

     


Have you ever been scrolling through social media and you see an ad for a spin off?  The other day while sitting scrolling thought social media, I came across an ad for a Spin Off of the show Victorious. I was speechless. In my opinion, the show did not need a spinoff, for example, Boy Meets World , While yes, the spin off Girl Meets World is a cute Disney Channel show, it was not necessarily needed. But, as I must say, it is one of the easiest watch shows ever. I have a very short attention span and struggle to sit though shows, so even though Boy Meets World did not need a spin off. I am not knocking it. 

Even though some spin offs are really good, like The Originals it was needed, it shares the background of multiple character that come in and out of The Vampire Diaries. So yes, spin offs are needed but not always. I also understand this is a insane topic to be passionate about but, there are SOOO many spin offs. iMDb has a list of 49 spin offs, and that was made 12 years ago, which mean it is not NEARLY anywhere near all of the spin offs. While I was looking into have many shows actually have a spinoff, I found that almost all the shows I have watch throughout my life have one. Or they have an insane amount of season, even though the series could have ended years ago. For example, Greys Anatomy. Truly why does it have 22 seasons, aren't all the characters gone? I truly do not understand. 

I would love to hear other people thoughts on this, my family thinks it is something weird to be so curious about. But how could you not when so many are popping up all the time?

    What an interesting topic and not one I've thought about in depth before. Again, you have great energy and personality in this post, but what is your purpose here? What is it that you want readers to understand, consider, or takeaway from your entry?
